Panasonic's capacity-coupled drive system and high-speed LCD give the TC-22LT1 LCD panel extremely fast response. With a refresh time of just 16 milliseconds, it improves on the conventional NTSC time of 16.7 milliseconds and eliminates the unnatural-looking moving pictures common to many LCD systems. Use of a new color filter and optical simulation greatly expands the color reproductions ranges, giving you vivid reds that actually surpass those of CRTs. Active Light Control automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time. This screen provides maximum brightness that's up to 1.4 times greater than the level of conventional systems, while its minimum brightness during dark scenes is about one-half conventional levels. The result is a greatly expanded dynamic range from black to white peak, with crisp, natural pictures that assure dynamic viewing. Moving film consists of a series of still images viewed at 24 frames per second. On TV broadcasts or videotapes, these images are converted to interface signals with 60 fields per second. Panasonic LCD TVs detect this conversion and use still-image processing for each individual image, to achieve clear, smooth-flowing images with a level of detail that closely approaches the original film.

Super DSC (Dynamic Sharpness Control) analyzes the entire image, minimizing noise in areas of low detail (such as a cloudless sky), while enhancing areas that have greater detail. The result is a natural, lifelike picture with outstanding details. Digital 3D Y/C Comb Filter accurately separates the color information from the black and white information and removes dot crawl and hanging dots, both horizontally and vertically. Stereo Speakers in completely enclosed speaker boxes on the right and left provide superior reproduction of mid-to high-range sounds. The bass-reflex woofer at the lower center then complements them by reflecting the bass sound off the table, making full use of the tables baffle effect to achieve an expansive sound field and exceptional deep, true bass. The TC-22LT1 features two bass-reflex woofers for even greater depth and power.
